Mission and vision

Movement belongs
to everyone.

At Xochipilli Dance Company, we weave the vibrant threads of Queer and Latinx communities into the rich tapestry of the Bay Area's cultural landscape. As a contemporary ballet ensemble, our mission is to ignite curiosity and passion for dance, art, history, and culture through original works that resonate deeply with our shared human experience.

We believe that dance is a universal language, integral to our past, present, and future. A medium that connects us all. Our commitment to community engagement reflects our dedication to inspiring individuals to explore movement, recognizing that within each of us resides a dancer. By focusing on personal, spiritual, and philosophical connections, we create spaces for both inner and outer reflection, fostering a profound understanding of our interconnections.

Through the art of movement, we construct environments that highlight how our stories and experiences are intertwined. Join us on this journey of expression and discovery as we honor our histories and shape our collective future through the transformative power of dance.
