Héctor Jaime - Founder, Artistic & Executive Director

Héctor Jaime (They/She/He) was born and raised in Mexicali, Baja California, México. They began their training with Manuel Torres in El Centro Estatal de las Artes (CEART) and attended a couple of summer intensives in the US throughout high school. They were one of the recipients of The Herb Alpert Foundation Scholarship when they attended the California State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA) in 2015. Héctor graduated from the Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet BFA Program in San Francisco affiliated with Dominican University of California. Post graduation, they had the opportunity to be a member of Sean Dorsey Dance, Dawson Dance SF, and have an appearance in the dance film titled “Falling Up” directed by Detour Dance Company. Héctor has always been inclined to teaching and is now a ballet instructor at Stapleton School of Arts and a teaching artist with the Alonzo King LINES Ballet’s HeART with LINES program. Recently, Hector became part of the 2022 LatinXtensions Cohort, a 12-month program advises emerging Latinx dance artists in developing their professional artistic practice. This encouraged them to start their own company “Xochipilli Dance Company'' based in the Bay Area.

SYDNEY LEONG (She/Her/hers) Sydney Leong is a performing/teaching artist based on Ramaytush/Ohlone land in San Francisco. She began her training at the age of eleven under local Bay Area dance artists, and later attended the California State Summer School for the Arts (2015), the Ailey School Summer Intensive (2019), the LINES Ballet Winter Intensive (2019), and training program at State Street Ballet (2020-21). After graduating from UC Irvine in 2020 with a BFA in Dance Performance and a BA in Chinese Language and Literature, she went on to pursue her Pilates certification with Studio du Corps. While back in San Francisco, she aims to remain connected to her ballet roots while also exploring her Filipinx heritage by dancing with Parangal Dance Company and Kulintang Arts. During the pandemic, Sydney began leading virtual dance ministry to her church community and taught virtual Pilates mat classes. She also teaches dance for LINES Ballet's HeArt program and pilates at Equinox Sports Club SF. She hopes to benefit her communities through her passions for movement, language learning, and physical/emotional wellbeing.


Brooke Terry (she/her) was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri, where she began her dance journey at 3 years old. At the age of 10, her focus shifted from a competitive dance community toward the pursuit of a more serious dance education at the Center of Creative Arts Saint Louis (COCA). Now a 21-year-old dance artist, Brooke has recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA program at Dominican University of California, where she completed a Psychology Minor, an Honors Program Certificate, and earned Departmental Honors. Through four years of training in the Bay Area, she has graciously studied under Marina Hotchkiss, Gregory Dawson, Maurya Kerr, Christian Burns, Brett Conway, Kara Davis, and James Graham. Her training at LINES has allowed her to perform works by Sidra Bell, Dexandro “D” Montalvo, Nick Korkos, and many others. Brooke has spent summers training at The Alvin Ailey School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Kansas City Ballet, and at her home base dance organization, COCA, under the direction of Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd. Brooke is looking forward to jump-starting her post-graduate professional dance career with dawsondancesf, the Reyes Dance Project, and Xochipilli Dance Company as she hopes to continue sharing her experiences as a young Black individual navigating the world of today through dance.
