Founder & Artistic Director

Héctor Jaime (they/she/he) is a choreographer, dance artist, teacher, and shaman of movement, born in Mexicali, Baja California, México. They channel a deep reverence for Mexican history, pictography, sculpture, folklore, music, and poetry. Transforming these reflections into movement compositions. Rooted in ancestral ritual and driven by a belief in art’s capacity to heal, Héctor’s work weaves México’s divine supernatural worldview into a contemporary dance vocabulary. Having embraced México’s supernatural perspective has shaped their approach to dance. Their creations invite audiences to journey through exploring themes of identity, transformation, the infinite, myth and metaphor. Committed to community and collaboration, she continually expands her network across the Bay Area dance scene, creating spaces where Latinx and Queer voices flourish.

Dancers & Collaborators

  • Brandon Graham (he/they) was born in Rochester NY and trained at School Of The Arts and Odasz Dance Theatre under Jessica Odasz. He since has graduated from Alonzo King Lines BFA program. He has had the opportunity to work with Flock Works, Robert Moses, Kara Davis, Christian Burns and Gregory Dawson. After graduating the BFA program in 2020 he has been doing freelance work with Kristin Damrow, David Herrera Performance Company, Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Alyssa Mitchel and more. This is Brandon’s second season with Sean Dorsey Dance.

  • Brooke Terry (She/Her) was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri, where she began her dance journey at 3 years old. Brooke graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA program at Dominican University of California, where she completed a Psychology Minor, an Honors Program Certificate, and earned Departmental Honors. Brooke has spent summers training at The Alvin Ailey School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, Kansas City Ballet, and at her home base dance organization, COCA, under the direction of Antonio and Kirven Douthit-Boyd. Brooke has danced with dawsondancesf, the Reyes Dance Project, and Xochipilli Dance Company. She hopes to continue sharing her experiences as a young Black individual navigating the world of today through dance.

  • David Le was born and raised in East side San Jose. As the first of an immigrant family to pursue art, he has trained in various cultural, street, and classical styles. While studying at San Jose State University, David has experienced residencies with Doug Varone, Kyle Abraham, Mike Esperanza, and more. With Archive and Decipher dance companies, David loves to collaborate to session and create inclusive communities. One day, he hopes to blend his neuromuscular therapy more with dance practices. David spends his down time with his deaf dog, Wilbur. He has done 3 years of touring, workshops, and advocating queer rights with Sean Dorsey Dance. David is excited for his first season with Xochipilli Dance Company!!

  • Jonathan Kim (he/him) is a dance artist/teacher based in the Bay Area. Recent projects include performances with Una Productions, FACT/SF, and Xochipilli Dance Company. He was a previous company member with Repertory Dance Theatre from 2019-2024, SALT Contemporary Dance from 2018-2019, and freelanced with artists such as the Woods Dance Project, Lineage Dance Company, and Mitsu Salmon, among others. Some additional highlights include works by: Donald McKayle, José Limón, Doris Humphrey, Michio Ito, Lar Lubovitch, Katarina Skarpetowska, Yusha Marie Sorzano, Ihsan Rustem, Noa Zuk and Ohad Fishof, Joni McDonald, Laja Field, and Shane Urton. His choreography has been featured on the SALT Pre-Pro Training Program, California State University, Los Angeles, and at EMERGE by Repertory Dance Theatre, Glimpse by Una Productions, and Albeit Liminal, a Humane Durational Performance, presented by Rae Luebbert. His teaching philosophy emphasizes choice-making, agency, softness, groove, and community, with masterclasses on contemporary and improvisation.
